Obvious

Obvious is a collective of artists who work with artificial intelligence algorithms for artistic purposes. They highlight the creative potential of the latest machine learning models from research, and draw attention to the multiple synergies between art and science, by revisiting art with a new and mathematical perspective. Their work was highlighted following the success of their first series of classic portraits, one of which was auctioned off at Christie’s for almost half a million dollars, and the production of a series of prints revisiting the Japanese tradition of Ukiyo-e.

Through a reinterpretation of the different artistic movements that make up our world historical heritage, Obvious talks about artificial intelligence by demystifying it, but also by questioning its capabilities, its limits, and its potential applications. Obvious invites the art lover, the technophile, but also anyone who lets their curiosity guide them on a visual and instructive journey into a world revisited by artificial intelligence.
